Come Autumn March.

I've got a feeling, that our neighbours' hosting a party.

As it was yesterday, tonight is drenched in melancholic rain come autumn March. Someone's playing continuous sleepy tune on the guitar. There was always him and his guitar across the road all the recent nights as I settled on a new bed. Tonight along it goes with the soft natters. Up and down like a feather on a ripple, its subtle sound waves cruise the chilly air through any open door and window.

My day's notes now an armrest. To one side of the noir notepad a dark red vessel houses a damp teabag the scent of strawberry. In bizarre harmony I sit, typing this, as it goes.

The rain's its music. Nobody's humming. Only that it sometimes gets heavier, yet honestly too soft the newborns of His clouds bursting into tiny pearls as they fall head-first onto the earth..

The Film.

shh..don't cry. They'll find us.
It hurts...it hurts...brother,look...

The boy were scared to even look.

Brother,I don't feel my own body, can you carry me up?

Still looking to the other side of the wall, the boy reached for his little brother's arm to pull him closer. Give me your hand, said him. But there was no reply, but sobs.

I said give me your hand, quick. We've got to run!

But how can you leave Abi and Ummi?? A girl pleaded. He looked across the room. Two bodies were stiff on the floor, hardly even visible from the thick liquid covering their backs. Years ago they had dined in the room during his older brother's wedding. But he was long gone. Now the house is down. Then he murmured.

You remember what Abi told us. Abi wanted us to live! Now give me your hands and let's run together!

No....!!!

Hush, hush! As he tried to cover his sister's mouth to stop her scream,he grabbed his brother by the arm and grew surprised at what he learned. He heard a shriek, and quickly took away his hands from the boy's arms only to discover blood.

What is this, where's your arm!!?? Oh my, oh my...

Another thing were thrown into the house. Smoke came out from its end, which made them gasped.

Hurry, go, go!!

They crawled out of the house just in time before the thing exploded and flew blocks of the house's broken walls on their heads. The boy felt something warm coming down from his forehead, right onto his lips. It tasted salty.

Rise your head, said a voice. The boy was too dizzy to notice a pair of boots in front of him.

Rise!!

Too afraid, he dared to look up. The first thing he saw was a gun, directly pointed to his bleeding forehead. In between his two eyes, the bullet was blown out of the gun. The second thing he saw was his fate, where everything was white.

How can you keep filming at times like this?

Shut up! I'm doing this for humanity. We will be safe as long as you keep quiet!

I'm going back to our base,

Fine, if that's why you're here, go. I'll only ask you this. The children across are made of flesh and blood, and their heads are blown now so they're dead. We're made of flesh too so they can blow our heads, and we'd die the way those kids did. But they died in honour. If we are to die in another minute running, and leave this camera here, wouldn't we die in shame? Huh? Are you a coward or something?!

Shush! The UN troops will come and take us away. I've contacted them, they'll take us away, that okay? I'll go with you, I will. We'll bring this back and show the world how much damage is done. We will. He breathed hard and  slapped my arm, on the side of the sleeve which was printed 'REPORTER'.

Shots hasn't stopped, and we felt it like years in damnation waiting for the jeep. Would they make it to us?

We're lucky we're here in a safe distant, he said.

Yeah, we are. For now. I looked at him in disgust.

I'm sorry. I didn't mean that.

Good. You better pray.

Suddenly someone patted my back. I almost howled in fear before the man hushed me.

Miss, come with us silently. I cannot guarantee your lives if you make a squeak. These are uncivillised  troops. They even kill us, the UN troops. Come quickly, duck down.

Goodness, UN's here. Thank you, thank you for coming for us,

No time for that, into the jeep quickly,

We ducked down as instructed towards the jeep waiting behind a tree.

This don't do you good, said the soldier, patting on the UN flag on the jeep. They don't understand human language. They're killing robots.

I was silent, too afraid that we'd be heard or seen.

Can we be seen? I asked when we finally got into the vehicle.

Of course, what do you think? They know we're here!

Then why don't they shoot us?

Who said you can tell for sure? I don't know. Maybe this time we're lu....CRASH!!

The rear window broke into spears that stung our necks and ears before he could finish his words.

Step on it, step on it!! He shouted to his men. There was nothing we could do but to sink our faces into our laps in horror.

Sir, we got company!

I know! Now go!

The ride didn't feel good. I was holding my breath so I won't puke on Johan's laps.

Hey, you okay?

I nodded.

Stay down, we'll reach our base in a while.

Okay, I said. Okay.

And I never stopped repeating His name. Save us, God Almighty, please save us.

***

There are ships bringing food and medical supplies to us,

When will it reach us?

It's supposed to arrive today, but now I'm afraid it won't.

Why?

The general looked at me.

They attacked the ships and killed people on board. Said they were carrying knives and clubs. I don't believe a single word from them. They are best men of lies.

Oh my..

It'ss disgusting. And it's, it's an act of cowardice. It really is.

What do we do now?

I will continue to fight in the name of humanity. You? What are you going to do?

There are people dying everyday...

You saw, didn't you?

I did. Yes I did.

Don't close your eyes. Look, and shed your tears. From those tears, build up your strength and fight.

My flight's in two days time. But will I make it home to my family, General?

He looked out the window. Blood orange fireworks gleamed the night skies and pungent black smokes bloomed upwards.

I have a family too. Wonder what are they doing right now. They must be watching t.v,

They must be praying for your safety, general,

He carved a smile. You will bring this home. He placed on my hand a CD.

You take this home with you and tell the world what's happening. When you get home do remember to save these children, put them back in their parents' warm arms. End the suffer. I might not be standing in two more days, but you will leave this place safely and summon the world to stand up for justice. You understand?

Pearls from my eyes were the only things that moved.

Yes, General... For their lives I will.
